To safeguard and harmonize the pension rights of cross-border and expatriate workers, the following provisions shall be implemented: If the employee is working outside of the European Federation, the amount of pension the employer is obliged to pay is determined by the State the employer is registered in; If the employee is working in a different Member State of the European Federation, the amount of pension the employer is obligated to pay is determined by the State of the employee’s residence.
